Information about the speaker: Halyna Oliinyk is a Senior Data Scientist in Delivery Hero. Halyna is interested in end-to-end delivery ML services from research to deployment, design and implementation of distributed systems, weakly supervised deep learning, and cross-lingual NLP.

The talk will be interesting for people, who know the basics of search, but are willing to improve their knowledge of how custom autocomplete services work. We’ll cover the basics of how engines like Elastic implement their autocomplete models and compare it with the one we can build. We’ll also talk about FSTs/WFSTs, latency issues, the scalability of the solutions, and how to maintain, evaluate, and track these models. The speech will be especially focused on the approaches of how to create easily deployable multilingual solutions and iterate on them fast.
