📣We cordially invite you to attend the KSE Mathematics Seminar on the topic: “Local optimality of the hexagonal lattice”
Abstract:
Differential equations arising in algebraic geometry have surprising arithmetic properties. We will show examples, discuss the nature of these phenomena and demonstrate their appearance in string theory in physics.
About the Speaker:
Thomas Leblé is a CNRS researcher affiliated with Université Paris Cité. His research focuses on probability theory, statistical physics models, and rigorous mathematical analysis of random systems — including hyperuniformity, Coulomb gases, and point processes. His work combines deep probabilistic methods with questions motivated by statistical physics and mathematical physics, and he has authored numerous influential papers on these topics, such as studies on hyperuniformity, Coulomb energy, and the geometry of interacting particle systems.
